Vijaya Pai

Vijaya K. Pai, age 79, of East Brunswick, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2026 from Parkinson’s Disease. She was born on May 19, 1947, in Mumbai, India to I.M. and Sunita Pai. She called many places home over the years, including London, New York, New Hampshire, Tennessee, and Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

Vijaya, known as Viju to most, will be remembered for her warmth, quiet strength, and devotion to her family. She is survived by her brothers Mohan Pai and Prakash Pai, both of Mumbai, India; her children, Anil (Shilpa) of Allentown, PA, and Ajit (Amie) of East Brunswick, NJ; her grandchildren, Ayla, Siddhi, Alia, and Ayan; many cousins, nephews, and nieces all over the world; and her many friends, who she considered family. She was preceded in death by her parents, five of her siblings, and by her husband, Balachandra K. Pai.

Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Vijaya’s memory to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
