In the quiet beauty of dawn on September 11, 2026, we said farewell to our guiding star and radiant beacon of love, Susan Gardner (Jennings). She was born on May 18, 1960, and her life was an embodiment of love, compassion, and empathy. A loving mother, supportive sister, and friend to many, she was fondly known as Sue, Suzie, Momma Sue, and Susu. To many of her daughter's friends, she was affectionately addressed as "My second Mom," a testament to her nurturing spirit.
Susan's life was a tapestry of memorable moments and beautiful relationships. She was a woman of many talents: a gifted writer, a passionate nature and animal lover, a skilled knitter, an avid photography enthusiast, and a diamond art aficionado. Her love for diversity and equality was evident in her annual tradition of marching in the Asbury Park Pride parade with her daughter, daughter's co-workers, and her cherished extended family members, Christine and Jose. She also had a successful career as a manager at LMD Integrated Logistic Services for over 20 years.
Susan's love for her family was her heart's most profound song. She is survived by her daughter, Tracy (Steven) Neswick, her sister Cheryl Dougherty, her brother Thomas (Denise) Killen, her son-in-law Steven (Tracy) Neswick, her sister-in-law Denise (Thomas) Boyle, and her sister-in-law Dolores (William - deceased) Jennings. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, Lynn, Brandi, Bobby, Angela, Johnny, Denise, Jake, Logan, James, and Aiden, who she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her brother William (Dolores) Jennings, her mother Barbara Killen, her father William Sr., and her sister Barbara (Jennings).
In the words of Helen Keller, "What we have once enjoyed deeply, we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Susan's legacy of love, support, and compassion will remain etched in our hearts forever. She taught us that life was about living passionately, supporting others unconditionally, and building an extended family of love and connection. As we celebrate her life, let's remember her not with sorrow but with joy for having known such a remarkable soul.
