Sierra Grey

–

South Plainfield, New Jersey

It is with profound sorrow and broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Sierra Sage Grey, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, coach, and friend. Sierra left us far too soon on September 12, 2026, at the age of 27, leaving behind a lifetime of love, memories, and countless people whose lives were forever changed simply by knowing her. Born on July 5, 1999, in Lakewood, California, Sierra was the beloved daughter of John and Tedra Grey. From an early age, Sierra possessed a vibrant spirit, a fierce determination, and an unmistakable zest for life. She was someone who could never simply blend into the background. Her personality was bold, her heart was big, and her presence was felt wherever she went. She had a unique ability to bring laughter, energy, honesty, and warmth into the lives of those around her. Sierra was a woman who never stopped learning, growing, or challenging herself. After graduating from Odyssey Preparatory Academy in 2017, she began a journey defined by service, determination, and an unwavering desire to better herself. In 2018, Sierra answered the call to serve her country by joining the United States Navy. During her military career, she earned the rank of Aviation Ordnance Petty Officer Second Class. She served with dedication and pride, embodying the Navy’s core values of honor, courage, and commitment. Her service reflected the strength, discipline, courage, and determination that were such defining parts of who she was. After completing her service in the Navy, Sierra continued to pursue the things that inspired her. She followed her passion for mechanics and hands-on work, attending Georgestone Technical Center and The Ding King PDR and Detailing School, where she expanded her knowledge and developed skills that would led her to opening her own business. Sierra’s desire to learn extended far beyond one particular career path. She also attended Middlesex Community College, where she took classes in Physical Therapy, exploring another field. True to her nature, Sierra was never content to stop at what she already knew. She was always looking toward her next challenge and finding another way to grow. Most recently, Sierra attended CDL Driving Academy, where she was working toward earning her commercial driver’s license at the time of her passing. It was yet another example of her determination to keep moving forward, learning new skills, and pursuing whatever goal she set her mind to. Whether she was serving her country, working with her hands, pursuing an education, or preparing for her next chapter, Sierra approached life with the same relentless determination. She believed in learning, pushing herself, and never being afraid to start something new. After her military service, Sierra carried that same determination and work ethic into her civilian life. She embraced her entrepreneurial spirit and founded Grey’s Rad Detailing, building a business that reflected her passion for vehicles and her commitment to doing things right. Sierra took pride in her work, paid attention to the smallest details, and always wanted those around her to receive nothing less than her best. Yet, for all of her accomplishments, Sierra’s greatest treasures were never found in a title, a career, or a business. They were found in the people she loved and the memories she made with them. Sierra lived life with an adventurous spirit. She loved riding motorcycles, modifying her vehicles, wakeboarding, riding the quad and side by side, camping, playing pool, dancing, and spending time with her friends and family on the water. She found joy in getting her hands dirty, taking on new projects, and turning an ordinary day into an adventure. She especially loved working on home renovation projects with her wife, Nathalie Sugey Grey, sharing not only a home, but a life filled with love, laughter, hard work, and unforgettable moments. Sierra and Nathalie were married on October 8, 2020, in Norfolk, Virginia. Together, they built a life rooted in love, partnership, friendship, and family. Their journey was filled with adventures, challenges, laughter, and memories that Nathalie, Michael, Aiden, Mary and Ronald will carry in their hearts forever. Above all else, Sierra was a devoted mother. Her sons, Michael and Aiden, were among the greatest loves of her life. She poured her heart into being there for them, encouraging them, teaching them, and cheering them on. Sierra also found immense joy in coaching her sons through Franklin Township South Bound Brook Little League. Baseball gave her another opportunity to do what she loved most: connect with people, encourage others, and help young athletes believe in themselves. As a coach, Sierra taught far more than the game. She taught confidence, determination, teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship. She encouraged her players to work hard, keep going when things became difficult, and never be afraid to give their best. The impact she made on those young athletes will continue long after the final inning. Sierra is survived by her beloved wife, Nathalie; her cherished sons, Michael and Aiden; her loving parents, John and Tedra Grey; her brothers, Kevin, Christopher, Jovon, and John; and her grandmother, Elaine. She also leaves behind her nephews, Kamdyn and Elijah; nieces, Amyra and Jeveah; uncles, Todd, Tim, and Blake; and an immeasurable circle of friends who loved her, laughed with her, learned from her, and shared in the many adventures that made Sierra who she was. She was preceded in death by her brother, Theophlus Lee Grey. Those who knew Sierra will remember her for her honesty, her strength, her loyalty, and her fearless spirit. Sierra was never afraid to speak her mind. She stood up for what she believed in and was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. If someone needed help, Sierra was the kind of person who would show up. If someone needed encouragement, she gave it. If someone needed a laugh, she could certainly provide one. She was wonderfully, unapologetically herself. Sierra lived boldly. She loved deeply. She worked hard, played hard, and made memories wherever she went. She had an energy that could not be replicated and a personality that could never be forgotten. Her life may have been far too short, but it was anything but small. The number of people Sierra touched throughout her 27 years cannot be measured. She was a daughter, a wife, a mother, a sister, a granddaughter, an aunt, a coach, and a friend. To each person, she was something a little different—but to all of us, she was Sierra, and there will never be another quite like her. A service celebrating and honoring Sierra’s remarkable life will be held on September 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Bronson & McNamara Memorial Home, located at 152 North Main Street, Milltown, NJ 08850. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Sierra’s memory. The family of Sierra Sage Grey extends its deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out with love, support, prayers, kindness, and compassion during this unimaginable time. Every message, phone call, visit, shared photograph, story, and memory has brought comfort to her loved ones. Each act of kindness is a reminder of just how many lives Sierra touched and how deeply she was loved. While we struggle to understand how someone so full of life could be taken from us so soon, we will choose to remember Sierra for the life she lived rather than only the time we have lost. We will remember her laughter. We will remember her stubbornness and her honesty. We will remember her adventurous spirit and her willingness to try almost anything. We will remember the way she loved her family. We will remember her determination, her strength, and the way she showed up for the people she cared about. We will remember the countless ordinary moments that never seemed important at the time, but now mean everything. And most of all, we will remember how lucky we were to have her. Sierra’s life was a gift. Her memory is a blessing. Her love will remain woven into the lives of everyone she left behind. Though our hearts are broken, Sierra’s story does not end here. She will continue to live through her children, through the family she loved so fiercely, through the friends who will carry her stories forward, through the young athletes she inspired, and through every person who was fortunate enough to know her. Sierra’s legacy of love, courage, strength, determination, and an unwavering spirit will live on in all of us. She was here. She was loved. She mattered. She made a difference. And she will never, ever be forgotten. Rest peacefully, Sierra. We love you, and we will carry you with us always.
