James McInnis

James "Kweli" McInnis of Perth Amboy, NJ passed away peacefully October 13, 2017 after a long and painful battle with cancer. Born in Monrovia, CA, he was a longtime resident of Perth Amboy. He was a man of God and a self-taught biblical scholar. James took great delight in sharing his vast knowledge with friends and family. He was a selfless man whose greatest joy was serving God and humanity. James will be sorely missed by his dear friends and community. Predeceased by his parents John Henry and Rushie Pearl McInnis of CA and brother Joe Joe McInnis of CA, James is survived by best friend and partner in life Teresa McCabe of Ireland, his son Jamal McInnis of GA, beloved granddaughter Kari, brother and sister-in-law John and Cheryl McInnis of CA, sister and brother-in-law Charlotte and Dave Martinez, Jamal's mother Gwendolyn Maxine Burch, and numerous loving extended family and friends in California. The family will welcome friends Tuesday 1-3pm at the Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown, NJ. Funeral service, Tuesday 2:30pm at the funeral home. Final disposition is private. Pastor Joshua Shuster presiding.
