Charles Andrew Renoux

–

Milltown, New Jersey

Charles "Chuck" Renoux 87, of Milltown, NJ passed away on August 8, 2024 peacefully at home, after a lengthy illness. He was born in New Brunswick, NJ and grew up in Milltown.
Chuck served his country as a United States Marine and was stationed in Quantico, VA. A very proud veteran, Chuck remained an active member of John Basilone detachment and enjoyed monthly meetings, working the annual Toys for Tots toy drive, and participating in multiple parades. Chuck was active in the community as a former member of the Jaycees and an original member of the Sons of Milltown.
Chuck worked at Harry's TV, retiring in the 1970's to open his own TV repair shop which we all know as Chuck's TV on South Main St. After many years of long hours he closed up shop and became a custodian of Our Lady of Lourdes School, quickly becoming a favorite face in the halls to both the children and staff. Many years later he retired to spend time with his loving wife Marie. After Marie passed, Chuck took on the role of crossing guard in Milltown to fill his days. Chuck's smile and wave were a familiar sight to all passing his post on the corner of Washington and Moetz.
After 17 years, Chuck retired for good, choosing to spend time with his family and friends and is always remembered for being willing to lend a hand and share a smile.
Chuck was a member of the Old Timer's car club and the Studebaker car club. He loved watching baseball and football, especially when his favorite teams, the St Louis Cardinals and the Green Bay Packers were playing. Two of his favorite destinations when he wanted to get away were Las Vegas and Atlantic City.
Chuck was predeceased by his loving wife Marie, his father Andrew, his mother Mary, his sister Irene, and his brothers John and George.
Chuck is survived by his sister Andrea, brother-in-law Al Barbano (Irene's husband) and his nieces Dawn Marie and Jill.
Also survived by his loving and caring stepson and stepdaughter-in-law Mike and Gail Smith, with whom he lived in Milltown; cherished grandson and granddaughter-in-law Mike and Laura Smith, cherished granddaughter and grandson-in-law Linda and Matt Bolger and beloved great-grandchildren Brandon, Brooke, and Johnathan, all of whom they spent many hours playing with "GG".
All those that he left behind are left with the cherished memories of time spent with him.
